“The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any”
Fred Astaire
Etiquette For kids
The famous dictum, “Your children will become what you are; so be what you want them to be” says it best. We should not expect children to be something unfamiliar to them. Our obligation is to be good role models, to lead by example. The task is not simple, the road is full of obstacles and difficulties, but the alternative is bleak and kids deserve a fair chance in a better world.
A world where goodness and kindness are important and appreciated. In a responsible society, that glorifies accomplishments based on effort, awareness, sensitivity, caring, kindness, respect, integrity and honesty. That to be powerful, successful and accomplished also means being kind and considerate. Not success at any cost but success with a cause.
Start Young
Children need to learn at a young age those timeless qualities, children need to learn kids etiquette and manners from the moment they are able to understand things, from the moment they can hold a fork. We cannot hope they will grow into kind, courteous adults if we do not take the job of teaching them seriously. The goal is to teach them early all the essential kids etiquette they can absorb. They will not learn what is proper and correct on their own, we need to do our part.
