Gym Etiquette For All
A gym is a mini world with members and rules. To properly function members need to follow certain gym etiquette rules. Most people join a gym to get in shape and exercise. The social aspect of joining a gym is peripheral to the goal of the majority. As such everyone has to adhere to basic rules of gym etiquette and proper conduct when joining a gym. Good manners are required to be a member in good standing.
Simple Gym Etiquette Rules
Do not monopolize an equipment for too long especially at peak hour

Wipe the equipment clean after you are done using it
Carry a towel with you, so when need be you can wipe sweat or clean machines or equipment you have used
Do not introduce yourself to people when they are in the middle of training
Do not start a conversation with people while they are training
Do not talk loudly in the gym training area
Do not listen to loud music, use your headphones
Do not choose a treadmill or elliptical that is close to someone using it when ten others are not being used, keep a distance when possible
Do not talk on the phone while on a machine

Do not text or email while using gym equipment
Do not call someone across the gym or training room
Do not arrive in a middle of a class
Do not interrupt a class that has started
Do not walk around locker naked making others feel uncomfortable
Do not make a mess in shower/locker room
Do not expect people to clean up after you, so be considerate
Do not try and pick up someone while they are training (it is not a bar)
Do not reserve a few machines at a time, wait your turn like everyone
Do not mock anyone that is training
Do not make fun of anyone’s appearance
Do not make loud noises while training
Do not use equipment you are not familiar with
Do not put yourself in danger or anyone else by using difficult heavy equipment
Do not use rude words while training
Do not leave your bottle of water or towel anywhere
Do not forget to wear clean, nice smelling clothes to the gym
Do not forget that people are watching so behave appropriately
Do clean after yourself in the locker room
