Kids Manners
One of the most embarrassing things that can happen to a parent is when his child contradicts him in public.
For example; the parent says to the other adult “I am sorry I was not able to attend your BBQ but I was away last weekend” the young child says “No Mommy you forgot we went to Amanda’s pool party”.
This is bad etiquette and should not be tolerated. Kids manners matter. Children must be taught to never contradict you. Children learn by example. Children observe the adults around them, you should always strive to tell the truth, but in the event a little white lie is needed (it should not be a habit) you must explain to your child the importance of not getting involved in an adult conversation.
To avoid such incidents kids should be taught very young to never contradict any adults (not only their parents) while they are having a conversation. A parent should explain patiently that it is not a nice thing and why.
A parent must repeat this to the child over and over until this behavior is no longer an issue. If the behavior is not corrected at an early age, this will be a recurring problem and even more embarrassing with older kids contradicting you.
